Recycling Done Right:

Why We Don’t Offer It..

(And Why You Should Handle It Yourself)

At Trash Reapers, we’re on a mission to kill everything you hate about Big Trash—
the surprise fees, the no-shows, the broken promises.

But there’s one thing we don’t do: Recycling.

Not because we don’t care about the planet.

But because most “single-stream” curbside recycling programs dump your carefully sorted bins straight into landfills.

Big Trash charges you extra to feel green, while your bottles and cans end up right next to your garbage.

We won’t sell you a feel-good lie.

Instead, we’ll show you how to recycle properly, save money, and actually make a difference.

🚫 Why We Don’t Offer Recycling (and Why You Should Avoid Big Trash)

  • Contamination kills most curbside recycling. Single-stream bins mix food waste, plastics, and metals, leading to whole loads being dumped.

  • Bundled trash contracts cost you more. Big Trash makes you pay for “recycling” while pocketing the margin.

  • Control equals results. When you sort and drop off materials yourself, you know they’re actually processed—not trashed.

  • You save money. Less trash = smaller bins, fewer pickups, and no inflated fees.

Bottom line: If you want real recycling, take control.

🗺️ How to Recycle the Right Way (Step by Step)

1. Know What’s Accepted Locally.

Cobb County & Paulding County centers take:

  • Paper, cardboard, cartons

  • Plastics #1 & #2 (bottles, jugs)

  • Aluminum & steel/tin cans

  • Glass bottles/jars (select sites)

  • Electronics, batteries, tires (Paulding only; some fees apply)

2. Clean Your Recyclables

  • Rinse all containers

  • Remove caps and lids

  • Flatten cardboard to save space

3. Sort Before You Go

  • Separate paper, plastics, metals, and glass

  • Keep electronics or hazardous materials aside

4. Avoid “Wishcycling”

If it’s greasy, flimsy, or not on the list, don’t toss it in. Contaminated loads go straight to the dump.

5. Compost Organics

Keep food and yard waste out of landfills by composting at home. It reduces methane emissions and creates rich soil.

6. Make It Routine

  • Set up separate bins at home

  • Schedule a weekly drop-off
